General criteria for applications
We approve grants to applications that correspond as closely as possible to one of our areas of activity. We favour projects that combine these in a targeted manner.
As a general rule, the Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation makes contributions to projects run by organisations from Switzerland and the UK that aim to improve people’s living conditions and promote mutual cultural understanding through:
- Performing and visual arts
- Supporting persons affected by conflicts or violence
- Medical research
- Access to individual educational grants and school projects
By our approach, we aim to support high-quality projects, seek out innovative solutions, enter into partnerships, take a long-term view of the sectors in which we give assistance, support disadvantaged and poorly financed sectors and add to specialist knowledge by means of pilot projects.
